Music Background and influence

Damen commented on his film score journey: "Composing music became a passion of mine since I was 14 years old. During my MSc studies in England, I acquired my ABRSM certificate in Western music theory with Distinction. Then, I travelled to Jordan and trained under Maestro Mohammad Ottoman Siddiq and other composers.

My inspirations during this musical journey include soundtrack composers like Maurice Jarre, Ennio Morricone, Hans Zimmer, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Amon Tobin and Nino Rota.

I secured an opportunity to pursue advanced education in Music Production and Technology at the Turkish music conservatory at the Istanbul Technical University."

Film Projects

"My first professional soundtrack for a feature film came as an opportunity 2010 before I started working in the film industry. Since then, I composed soundtracks for more than 15 feature documentaries and other short fiction and TV projects. They include Sneaking (2010), Land Owners series (2010), Trees without Roots (2012), Price of Oslo (2013) and Switzerland – The Armed People (2015) amongst several others. In addition, I composed the music for the documentaries that I directed “The Red Stone” (2012) and “Forbidden Pilgrimage” (2014)".
